The super yachts, sports cars, royalty and celebrities that will be at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show will always get a fair bit of attention simply because super yachts, sports cars and celebrities are sexy. And The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the only places that makes it relatively easy to see what it’s like inside a 360-foot private yacht.

Obviously, it’s no secret that owning a super yacht comes with ahem… privileges. But, now that the 700-mile-long London to Monaco bike ride is about to kick off off for the third year in a row to raise funds for the BLUE Marine Foundation, the secret is out that many members of the super yacht community care about preserving the world’s oceans too. And they’re spending real money to do something about it.

Founding sponsor Winch Design (the London-based yacht, aviation, and architecture firm) has helped BLUE raise nearly $750,000 to help preserve some of the world’s most important ocean ecosystems. Sunseeker, the prolific English shipyard known for building fast and luxurious yachts up to 155-feet long also has long term financial sponsorship agreement so BLUE can continue to help the oceans. And now that Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike will be on hand when the nearly 100-rider-strong peloton starts in London September 19 the attention this ride is getting, and the good the funds raised will accomplish will skyrocket even more.
